Privacy Policy

The Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) values your privacy. We do not share e-mail addresses or other personal information provided by CSE website users or email subscribers, except to the extent necessary to complete transactions and to abide by federal and state laws.

Collection of Your Personal Information

CSE collects personal information including names, postal and e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and interest areas from individuals who attend CSE events and/or want to be added to CSE information distribution lists. If you wish to be added to or removed from any of our newsletters, event notices, or other bulletins, or you just need to update your information, please send your e-mail requests to digitalmarketing@energycenter.org. All of the registration information you provide will be stored securely.

Use of Information

CSE uses the information provided by you to further its mission and to deliver the services you have requested. CSE is a non-profit organization that helps save energy and generate clean, renewable energy through a variety of incentive, educational, policy and technical assistance programs.

CSE keeps track of how visitors access the information on our web site to determine what pages and services are the most popular and how we may make improvements to our web site. We do not sell, rent or lease its subscriber or donor lists to third parties.

Please keep in mind that if you disclose personal information through CSE group communications with other organizations or other public forums, this information may be collected and used by others. CSE cautions you against providing personal information to strangers online, which they may use for illegal or harmful purposes.

Security

CSE employs reasonable security measures to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control. Information submitted through the donation processes is encrypted through Secured Socket Layer (SSL) connections, which protects the information in transit.

Notice About Solar Sales Calls

Unfortunately, unscrupulous marketing companies use CSE’s name or its likeness from time to time when contacting customers about their products or services. CSE takes these intrusions seriously.

We want the public to know CSE does not operate a sales call center, conduct consumer sales marketing or endorse companies or products. We are a mission-driven nonprofit providing consumers, businesses and local governments education, energy and clean transportation programming, energy engineering and policy support through our website and client services. We regret any and all attempts to use our name for product marketing - these activities are not authorized.

You can help us combat these solicitations by visiting the FTC website for recommendations on how to block unwanted calls.

If you would like to report a harassing solicitation from a sales person who uses CSE’s name or likeness, please visit our contact us page and send us a message with the method the sales person used to contact you and include their email or phone number.

Third-Party Advertising

From time to time, you may notice offers from outside companies advertised on the CSE website. Although we take measures to select responsible service providers, we cannot make any representations about their privacy practices or policies.

Disclosure of Your Information

CSE endeavors to keep your information secure. However, CSE may disclose your personal information to third parties if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process required by any third-party donation service; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of CSE; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of CSE services or members of the public.

Enforcement of this Privacy Policy

All CSE agents and contractors with access to personal information obtained on the CSE website are bound to adhere to this policy. If you have questions regarding this statement, you should contact CSE at: info@energycenter.org.

Changes to Our Policies

CSE's privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Revised privacy policies will be consistent with CSE's mission. Should we make any significant changes to our policies, we will post notices of changes on this page.
